1691312The Reserve Bank announced today that official interest rates would remain on hold over the month of October.

Interest rates have now been at the current level of 2.5 percent for 14 consecutive months, the longest steady sequence since 2003.

Although good news for those with fixed rate mortgages, it does little to assist those, particularly older Australians who have savings invested in deposits and other cash based investments to help create an income.
