Heatwave coming, says BOM

Heatwave coming, says BOM

Severe and extreme heatwaves have claimed more lives than any other natural hazard in Australia.

Not only older people and the very young are at risk—extreme heatwaves can affect anyone’s health.

Over the next few days, severe heatwave conditions will continue across parts of Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and far north New South Wales.

Know your weather. Know your risk. Learn more about heatwaves through the Heatwave Knowledge Centre on the BOM website.

You can find the latest heatwave forecasts for your area via www.bom.gov.au and the BOM Weather app.

Note: The heatwave map used in this post shows the heatwave forecast for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday (3 days starting 7/11/2024)
